Your child has been asked to bring in an 8x10" photo for a special writing project. A school photo, or portrait, works best; but it can be any current picture featuring just your student. Also, although an 8x10" size is preferred, I can enlarge other photos for your child if necessary. Photos will be returned to you when we are finished using them. Thank you in advance for your help!
Subject Update:
ELA (English/Language Arts)
- Spelling - The Lesson 30 pretest will be given on Monday. The students will be assigned homework during the week to practice their words, and a final test will be given Friday. *Students will only be able to print 5 words "just in case" their cursive still needs work.
- English - The Unit 4 Adjectives Test has be rescheduled for Tuesday, April 21st. Students will also be creating an ABC book of adjectives as a culminating activity next week. - Reading -We will continue with our theme, Hardships in History. Students will read various texts to help them answer our essential questions: How does the time period of the hardship impact future decisions and events? How are hardships in history similar and different?
Social Studies - We will finish our Puzzle Piece Project incorporating cause/effect skills and knowledge of the important events from Chapter 8. Then we will begin Chapter 9 which discusses how the Americans win the Revolutionary War and gain their independence from Britain.
Mrs. Strong's Math Class - Students will be doing some problem-based learning, helping out Luigi at the Pizza Palace. Once we solve this real-life challenge involving fractions, we will prepare for a quest (quiz/test) over Unit 6 tentatively scheduled for Thursday, April 23.
