WEEK OF FEBRUARY 22

Too Good For Drugs
During our 9th session of T.G.F.D., Deputy Seward talked about the dangers of inhalants. Students received a fact sheet about inhalants that should be shared with a parent. Also, students were assigned a "Promise Letter" that needs to be completed by Wednesday, February 24th!
Save the Date: Too Good For Drugs Graduation will be Wednesday, March 23rd at 1:30 p.m.


Subject Update:


  • ELA (English/Language Arts) - We will continue our theme Nature's Fury with a focus on hurricanes. Students will continue to add information to their K-W-L charts, work with vocabulary, and write responses to questions about natural disasters. Students will also learn how to form and use the perfect verb tenses, and do activities to review all of the word parts we have studied so far.
  • Science - We will continue to learn about different types of clouds that may form as water condenses in the atmosphere.
  • Social Studies - Students will make some of the simple toys that children played with during colonial times. They will also read about slavery in the colonies. The Chapter 6 Test is scheduled for Tuesday, March 1st!
  • Mrs. Strong's Math Class - We will finish up Topic 5 about multiplying fractions. The Topic 5 Test is scheduled for Wednesday, February 24. Then we will head into Topic 6 about dividing fractions.
